Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Safeguarding team as a Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Lead. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced practitioner that is capable of positively influencing practice and competent to lead on Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence at DBTH with support from the Head / Deputy Head of Safeguarding and wider team members.
This role will require an in-depth knowledge of Domestic Abuse and associated agendas/national guidance including application of the Care Act and the Children's Act.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills and have the skills to drive forward Domestic Abuse workstreams.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of working with vulnerable groups and managing cases of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence
* Experience of safety planning and working with the wider partnership, including experience in MARAC
* Experience of managing/responding to distressing and sensitive situations
* Knowledge, understanding and implementing the Domestic Abuse Act (2021).
* Ability to write reports, data summaries, and undertake audits
* Understanding of clinical governance.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of delivering improvements in patient safety and quality.
* Prior experience working as a Domestic Abuse Lead or similar role.
* Experience of working within an acute setting.
Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria
* Registered Professional with a current registered body NMC/SWE/HCPC.
* Evidence of relevant post-registration development in relation to Domestic abuse and Sexual Violence.
Desirable criteria
* Teaching/mentorship qualification/course
* An IDVA qualification or other specialist training in relation to domestic abuse/safeguarding.
* Safeguarding Supervisor.
