Decorating Team Leader
40 hours per week (varied over Summer/Winter)
Up to £39,450 per annum depending on experience
Worthing Homes is a forward-looking housing association dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality homes and services to our local communities. We're a small but dynamic organisation, managing 4,000 homes serving over 10,000 residents across our range of properties from social housing to sheltered accommodation to shared ownership properties.
Due to an internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity for a Decorating Team Leader to join our Property Services team.
* Are you a skilled painter and decorator with hands-on experience?
* Are you highly motivated with a can-do attitude?
* Are you organised and confident in working with others to get the job done?
About the Role
As Decorating Team Leader, you'll combine your hands-on skills in painting and decorating with the ability to support, motivate, develop and guide a small team. You'll be responsible for ensuring works are completed to a high standard, on time, and with excellent customer care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring the effective day-to-day management of the decorating team
* Liaising with residents and internal teams in respect of planned works
* Carrying out 'in progress' and 'post inspections'
* Contributing to the safe working environment of employees, residents and contractors and to carry out risk assessments as needed
* Overseeing and coordinating associated works subcontractors working alongside the internal teams
About You
We're looking for someone with the right mix of practical skills, motivation, and the ability to support others. You'll be confident working under pressure, committed to delivering quality results, and ready to play a key role in leading and developing our decorating team.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Experience in external decorating works, preferably within social housing.
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Experience leading or supervising others is desirable, but not essential - we welcome applications from skilled painters/decorators ready to take the next step into a management role
* The ability to provide support and technical advice to a team
* The ability to work under pressure dealing with competing priorities and delivering results to tight deadlines
* A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
