Joseph Ash – Walsall is looking for a friendly, proactive, and customer-focused Sales & Customer Service Advisor to join our experienced internal sales team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering excellent service, building strong customer relationships, and supporting customers from initial enquiry through to order completion. Based in our busy Sales Office, you will work as part of a supportive team of four colleagues handling customer enquiries, sales orders, quotations, and transport coordination. The Role As a key point of contact for our customers, you will play an important role in ensuring a positive and professional customer experience at all times. Your responsibilities will include: Acting as a first point of contact for customer enquiries by telephone Providing friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient customer support Building and maintaining long-term relationships with new and existing customers Preparing estimates and quotations and following up to support customer needs Proactively contacting customers to maintain regular communication and service levels Supporting sales activity through customer engagement and relationship development this will include telephone sales to both “cold” and “warm” prospective customers Updating customer records, call logs, and notes on the SRM system Scheduling follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction Offering technical guidance and assistance where required (training provided)Assisting colleagues with transport scheduling and general sales office duties Liaising with internal departments and other Joseph Ash divisions to resolve queries and ensure smooth service delivery Salary & Benefits Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm Salary: £33,000 per annum 33 days annual holiday, including statutory days Auto-enrolment pension scheme Employee Sharesave Scheme Generous bonus scheme based on annual company performance Skills, Experience & Attributes – Essential Previous experience in a customer service or sales environment A friendly, confident, and professional telephone manner Strong interpersonal and communication skills A genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service Ability to listen, understand customer needs, and respond appropriately Well organised with good time-management and prioritisation skills Comfortable working as part of a team in a busy office environment Ability to work accurately and remain calm under pressure Good written and verbal communication skills High levels of reliability, commitment, and attention to detail Adaptable, proactive, and able to use initiative Skills, Experience & Attributes – Desirable Experience within an engineering or industrial environment Customer service experience within manufacturing or construction-related industries Knowledge of galvanizing, steel fabrication, or finishing processes Ability to read and understand engineering drawings NO AGENCIES
