The Role
As a Procurement Specialist, you'll lead procurement and contract activities across renewable energy projects, partnering closely with development and construction teams to deliver best value, manage risk, and ensure commercial success.
Reporting into the Procurement & Contracts Manager, you'll take ownership of the full procurement lifecycle from strategy through to contract management.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement project procurement strategies and plans
Engage and secure stakeholder buy-in across technical and commercial teams
Identify, prequalify and onboard suppliers
Prepare and manage RfQs and tender processes
Lead tender evaluations and contract negotiations (£50k-£200m+)
Ensure governance compliance, documentation and approvals
Manage contracts post-award including reporting, payments, variations, claims and disputes
Build strong, collaborative supplier relationships
Monitor supply markets to drive competition, innovation and risk mitigation
About You
You'll be proactive, commercially astute and confident working across multiple complex projects. You're comfortable influencing stakeholders and negotiating high-value agreements while maintaining strong governance standards.
Essential
Proven procurement, commercial or quantity surveying experience on major projects
Experience within capital-intensive industries (utilities, infrastructure, oil & gas or renewables)
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Knowledge of contract law and tender processes
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines in dynamic environments
Desirable
Renewable energy project experience
MCIPS or RICS qualified (or working towards)
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Business, or similar
