Night Cold Store Supervisor
Hopwells Limited is a leading independent Food Wholesaler.
We are currently looking to recruit a full-time, permanent Night Cold Store Supervisor to work the night-shift at our Castle Donington site. The shift starts at 21:00 pm to 6:00 am Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Depot Manager and Shift Manager, you will be responsible for organizing and supervising the night shift Coldstore Operatives to ensure the efficient picking and loading of goods for next day's deliveries. You will assess work priorities, allocate tasks, and actively monitor your team's progress to meet strict deadlines. As a leader, you must motivate, instruct, and supervise your staff, providing suitable on-the-job training and always setting a positive example through your conduct to maintain high standards of workmanship.
Your core operational duties will involve taking full responsibility for the receipt, checking, and allocation of inter-depot stock, as well as the accurate assembly of goods and vehicle loading. You will be responsible for efficient stock management, including substituting suitable products for unavailable goods, and must prioritize or re-allocate routes in the event of driver sickness or unforeseen circumstances. You will also monitor the correct operation of all plant, equipment, and vehicle refrigeration.
Working in the protective clothing provided, you are expected to encourage and enforce strict compliance with all legal requirements and Company procedures relating to Food Safety and Health & Safety. You must maintain a clean and tidy working environment, carry out routine surveillance checks, and act as a Key Holder, taking responsibility for the security of the Depot throughout your shift and responding to local callouts as required.
You will be entitled to 28 days paid holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays.
Counter Balance and Reach Truck licences preferred
