As part of investment within community services, Manchester EIS have additional funding to expand, creating an exciting time to join the service. Opportunities have arisen for dynamic and compassionate Support Time and Recovery Workers (STR) to work within our EIS and EDIT teams across Manchester (North – Central Park; South and Central Teams – Chorlton House & EDIT Service – city wide).

As an STR, you will work directly with service users and their carers to support and empower them to engage in their recovery and maintain independence. You will establish therapeutic relationships to address goals to help service users access a range of resources and services to connect with the local community. A particular focus will be on delivering mental and physical health interventions alongside the Occupational Therapist and in tandem with the Physical Health Pathway.

The Early Intervention Service has three teams (North, Central and South) which work across their boroughs, supporting people aged between 14 and 65 who are experiencing an episode of psychosis for the first time. We also have an EDIT Service which works with those individuals who are identified as being at risk of developing psychosis and offer psychological input. Work with our patients can include supporting people to access their local community, support with building confidence in activities of daily living, and supporting people to do what they want or need to do, in a goal‑directed way.


Responsibilities

* Establish and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with service users and their carers.
* Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues within the Early Intervention Team.
* Work under the direct supervision of Registered Social Workers, Registered OT's and Registered Nurses.
* Develop plans to support recovery based on individual need.
* Contribute to MDT meetings.
* Promote and encourage independence and engagement within the local community.
* Support the duty function of the team, by calling or visiting people already under our care, and supporting with some clinical tasks, such as supporting the team manager with allocations.
