This Autumn, Sticks'n'Sushi is coming to Birmingham - our first restaurant in the Midlands, opening in the Paradise development on Chamberlain Square.
SticksnSushi is as unique as the city we're coming to. We serve high-quality, fresh food based on a unique combination of classic and creative sushi along with sticks from the grill, bringing a blend of Danish design, Japanese dining and generous hospitality. Attracting both families and trendsetters, amazing service in beautiful restaurants is driven by our amazing team - our Strange Fish.

But Strange Fish are the gentle rebels: calm, curious, thoughtful. People who dont need to shout to be heard. People who make things feel easy. You know who you are. You will have walked a similar path before, but your spirit is ready for a Head Chef role where you can bring your energy and vision, with a spark of dare!

£55,000 to £60,000 per annum inclusive of tronc (every penny of the service charge is shared between the team in the restaurant)
48 hours a week with paid overtime

Were looking for you: a true craftsperson, passionate about creating things in the best way, to the very best they can be. Youll have Sous Chef experience in a busy kitchen with a strong knowledge of crafting exceptional sushi, with a calm spirit that tunes in and focusses, rising above that buzz. What youll be doing at Sticks n Sushi: Taking responsibility for all aspects of the operation in the kitchen from prep and food quality through to cleanliness, compliance and, of course, cost control
Ensuring we create top-class sushi and the very best kushiyaki sticks
Putting your passion and pride into ensuring a delicious plate and experience for every guest, every time
Being part of a family that will help you flourish and become the best you can be
Nurturing, coaching and developing other members of the kitchen team

What youll bring to us: Sous Chef experience in a busy kitchen
Excellent knife and sushi-making skills
Fluency in English, the language of our kitchen
An eye for detail; always upholding the highest standards and ensuring every shift is in the very safest pair of hands
A love of deepening your craft, with a respect for rituals and traditions but a curiousity to bring your own spark and ideas
Team spirit, kindness & respect. We only swear at ourselves here, no-one else.
