Overview
Maintenance Engineer - Cambridge, UK. Annual salary: Competitive. Full-time. Our client is looking for a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure facilities operate at peak efficiency and safety. This role is crucial in maintaining state-of-the-art facilities, including modern laboratories and historic buildings set within a beautifully landscaped parkland estate.
Responsibilities
* Investigate and diagnose issues across various systems including boilers, chillers, and medical gas systems, performing both planned and reactive maintenance.
* Optimize system performance for energy efficiency through detailed data analysis and operational improvements.
* Handle the commissioning and re-commissioning of plant and equipment as necessary.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and outcomes using the CAFM system.
* Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations, completing risk assessments and method statements for all tasks.
* Participate in an emergency call-out service on a rotational basis.
* Coordinate with the Helpdesk and manage relationships with contractors to ensure high standards of maintenance across the campus.
* Supervise and manage specialist sub-contractors, ensuring all maintenance activities are performed according to schedule and standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably within a similar environment.
* Familiarity with boilers, chillers, heat pumps, medical gas systems, and BMS systems.
* Strong understanding of building services maintenance including building fabric.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
* Proficient in using CAFM systems and interpreting BMS data.
* Strong communication skills for effective coordination with various teams and contractors.
