GSL Education are seeking an energetic and resilient Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to join a specialist setting in Dinnington. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in sports, coaching, or fitness who can use their skills to engage and motivate students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Main Responsibilities of SEMH TA:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
* Use sports-based activities to engage students and promote positive behaviour.
* Support behaviour management and implement de-escalation strategies.
* Encourage teamwork, resilience, and emotional regulation.
* Assist in delivering structured lessons and physical activities.
* Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support individual needs.
Requirements of SEMH TA:
* Background in sports coaching, fitness, or physical education.
* Experience working with young people, ideally with SEMH or behavioural needs.
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
* Energetic, patient, and resilient approach.
* Ability to build positive relationships and motivate students.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
