A supportive and well-regarded secondary school in Oxford is seeking an ambitious and talented Lead Teacher of Music to join its Performing Arts department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Music practitioner to take on additional responsibility within a school that values creativity, pupil engagement, and strong academic outcomes.

Music is a popular subject within the school, with strong participation across curriculum lessons, ensembles, and performances.

The Role

* Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on experience

* Leading on teaching and learning within the Music department

* Supporting curriculum development and assessment strategies

* Driving high standards in performance, composition, and theory

* Contributing to concerts, productions, and enrichment opportunities

* Coaching and supporting colleagues to ensure consistent high-quality practice

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* A degree in Music or a closely related subject

* Proven experience teaching Music at secondary level

* A strong track record of excellent classroom practice and pupil progress

* Experience supporting colleagues or leading initiatives within a department

* High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and musical achievement
