My job
To support the Finance Lead and accountants in providing a comprehensive, proactive, and responsive financial service to the UK & Ireland Commercial Team(s).
The role must focus on revenue growth and margin improvement initiatives with the Commercial Team by identifying opportunities, challenging the status quo, and conducting insightful analysis of market and business information.
What will I be doing?
1. Maintaining robust externally facing Customer Cost Models to support commercial opportunities and minimize cost inflation risks, mainly on commodity pass-through models, utilities inflation, and carcass balance enhancement.
2. Understanding market values and principles, including the cost drivers of inter-company meat supply, to promote profit-maximizing opportunities.
3. Providing key analysis in forecasting and budgeting processes.
4. Supporting the Commercial teams with an independent review service to ensure robust processes, financial control, and commercial awareness.
5. Reviewing commercial plans with a forensic approach, promoting clarity, understanding, and interpreting internal customer requirements to implement solutions, including standard sales reporting.
6. Enabling the Commercial teams to excel in revenue growth and margin improvement, including opportunities from customer tenders.
7. Identifying margin enhancement opportunities through insightful analysis of volumes, revenues, product costs, and overhead drivers.
8. Assisting in sales forecasting and budgeting, developing routines that encourage commercial participation, and ensuring budgets include appropriate narratives, sensitivity analyses, and strategic opportunities.
