Hays are recruiting for a leading manufacturing organisation, recognised for itsmitment to quality, innovation, and operational excellence. Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to take ownership of the Accounts Receivable function and contribute to a high‑performing team. This role offers flexible working arrangements to suit the right candidate. The role is available on a full‑time or part‑time basis. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, but reduced hours can be amodated. Once training isplete, hybrid working will also be offered, supporting a healthy work–life balance.
Your new role
As the Accounts Receivable Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in managing thepany’s iing payments and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of customer invoices. You will be the first point of contact for customer payment queries and will work closely withmercial teams to maintain strong credit control. You will also support wider finance processes, including Accounts Payable and Treasury, offering valuable flexibility within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Daily release of despatch notes and issuing customer invoices
2. Daily bank reconciliations
3. Manual processing of credit requests
4. Producing and issuing monthly customer statements
5. Setting up new customer accounts and obtaining relevant credit risk information
6. Monitoring and managing customer payments; chasing overdue invoices and escalating issues appropriately
7. Running and presenting monthly credit control meetings withmercial teams
8. Monthly reconciliation of the Sales Ledger
9. Handling customer enquiries via email and telephone
10. Supporting treasury activities and maintaining a working knowledge of banking/payment systems
11. Assisting with month‑end and year‑end AR processes, including revenue recognition and reporting
12. Providing ad‑hoc support to the Finance Manager and Financial Controller as required
What you'll need to succeed

13. Proven experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar finance role
14. Background within a manufacturing environment
15. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financialpliance
16. Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills
