Commercial Manager
As a Commercial Manager at Colt DCS, you will be at the forefront of shaping our commercial landscape, taking ownership of contract negotiation for major deals and ensuring optimal outcomes. Collaborating closely with our Legal and Procurement teams, you will establish robust processes to secure the best commercial positions, driving global strategies that align with our ambitious objectives. In this dynamic role, versatility and proactivity are key.
You will navigate complex landscapes with finesse, leading stakeholders on a journey towards shared success. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Commercial, you will play a pivotal role in formalizing and enhancing key commercial processes, fostering direct communication and relationships with stakeholders, and driving efficient and effective procurement practices, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and objectives.

Mission
Formalise the development of key commercial processes, supporting improvement and implementation efforts as necessary.
1. Cultivate direct lines of communication and build relationships with Cost Consultants and General Contractors' Commercial Leads to incentivise performance and ensure a single source of commercial truth during negotiations.
2. Collaborate with legal to develop and standardise practices in negotiations with vendors, including the negotiation of major contracts.
3. Provide mentorship to procurement team members on best practices in contract negotiation and management.
4. Support the procurement team in procuring in the most cost-effective manner, assessing risks, and analysing the costs/benefits of design and procurement models.
5. Manage claims, ensuring Colt's position is appropriately represented and providing reporting and visibility on claim issues across projects.
6. Improve change control and instruction processes, focusing on the quality of information, documentation, and interface with General Contractors.
7. Support the production of project control documentation and processes, including the implementation of earned value metrics.
The Team
The Commercial Manager will sit within the Commercial and Procurement team which sits in the wider Real Estate team, reporting directly to the Global Head of Commercial. In this role, you will work closely, with Cost, Procurement, PMO, and Delivery teams to drive the desired business outcomes.
The Skills and Expertise Required
Significant experience previously as a commercial manager. Good working knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC yellow, red and green book, JCT etc). Experience in Data centres favourably considered. Previously have worked for a data centre company, consultant or for a general contractor. Quantity surveying or construction-related qualification (engineering, construction management etc). Fluent English, French and German will be looked at favourably.
