Principle Electrical Design Engineer - Building Services
Location: Northampton
Salary: £60,000 £75,000 DOE
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, forward-thinking consultancy with a reputation for delivering high-quality, sustainable design solutions across commercial, residential, and public-sector developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead electrical design and coordination from concept through to completion.
Undertake detailed design calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians.
Liaise with clients, attending meetings and providing technical guidance.
Ensure designs comply with current regulations and sustainability standards (Part L, BREEAM, etc.).
Oversee QA and design reviews within the electrical discipline.About You
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards registration.
Proven experience leading electrical design within a consultancy or multidisciplinary environment
Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and software (e.g., Amtech, Dialux, Revit MEP).
