As our Sous Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high‑quality meals for up to 150 guests during a standard 45‑minute service window for both breakfast and dinner. Full training is provided in kitchen management, working with set menus, and ensuring that all meals meet the highest standards of taste, presentation, and food safety. You will be part of Daish's Training Academy, producing food as directed by the Head Chef and also creating your own dishes independently as part of the kitchen team.
Responsibilities
* Assist in implementing menus with new or existing creations, ensuring variety and quality of servings for our guests.
* Work in conjunction with the Head Chef to maintain equipment required for service standards.
* Train new staff members.
* Assist with monthly stocktaking, if required.
* Assist with daily stock replenishment, if required.
* In conjunction with the Head Chef, maintain all required legislative records such as the SFBB log and labelling systems so that internal and external inspections can be carried out at any time.
* Be aware of company Health & Safety policy and assist others in maintaining a safe working environment.
Qualifications
* Experience of working in a commercial kitchen environment.
* Ability to manage tasks and responsibilities suitable to the role.
* A good working knowledge of culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
* Enthusiastic, confident and competent.
* Ability to multi‑task and maintain performance under pressure.
* Commitment to learning and contributing to the values of the organisation.
* Working knowledge of Health and Safety issues related to kitchen environments.
* Experience catering for a coaching hotel operation is desirable.

Pay, Hours & Benefits
Pay is up to £14.06 per hour depending on experience, with varied shifts working up to 6 days per week. Hours include evenings, weekends and bank holidays; kitchen team work finishes by 8.30pm and breakfast shifts start at 7am.
