We’re looking for a talented Accounts Assistant Manager who thrives in a dynamic environment and embraces the chance to tackle challenges. Your work in Accounting and Business Advisory Services (ABAS) will go beyond the numbers – it’s about building meaningful client relationships, understanding their businesses, navigating risks, and delivering insights that drive real results.
What’s Involved?
* Review draft financial statements, ensuring consistency with accounting standards and client records
* Preparation and review of consolidations and group company accounts
* Review draft audited financial statements and liaise with the audit department to resolve queries
* Assist in the completion of advisory work, contributing to high-quality client service
* Review draft corporation tax computations for accuracy and compliance
* Manage and monitor statutory filing deadlines, ensuring timely submission of Companies House filings
* Liaise directly with clients or via Directors as appropriate to resolve queries and gather additional information
* Liaise with colleagues across departments and offices, including technical teams, to resolve issues and maintain high standards of service delivery
* Supervise, delegate, and review the work of senior and junior team members, ensuring that files are complete, review points are addressed, and ready for final review by Directors or Partners
* Hold a client portfolio and monitor work-in-progress across all jobs, identifying and communicating any issues or potential write-offs to Directors or Partners in a timely manner
* Track job budgets and oversee team performance against targets
* Oversee debt balances and cash collections; collaborate with credit control and communicate directly with clients as necessary
* Act as a key technical resource for team members, providing guidance and support on complex issues
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and accounting standards
What We’re Looking For
* Be fully ACCA or ACA qualified.
* Experience with demonstrable knowledge of producing single entity and group (consolidated) year-end financial statements, as well as accounts for audit.
* Strong IT skills including Word, Outlook and Excel, to an intermediate level, to produce letters and spreadsheets.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Organised and methodical.
* Client focused.
* Carrying out tasks with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.
* Ability to operate strict deadlines and handle conflicting priorities.
* Knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, Sage and / or QuickBooks (preferred but not essential).
* Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards (preferred but not essential).
