Academics in Canterbury are seeking a dedicated and inspirational Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant and nurturing primary school. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity to support teaching and learning across various year groups, working closely with teachers to enhance pupil progress and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons, primarily for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, under the direction of the class teacher.
2. Lead small group interventions and whole-class activities, ensuring all pupils are engaged and making progress.
3. Cover classes for short-term absences of the class teacher, delivering pre-planned lessons.
4. Assist with the preparation of resources and the creation of a stimulating learning environment.
5. Work closely with colleagues and supporting staff across the school to plan work and assessments.
6. Engage with parents, guardians, and carers through meetings, reports, and communications to support pupil learning and development.
7. Uphold the school's values not just in the classroom, but throughout the school.
What we are looking for:
* Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status or equivalent qualification/experience - essential
* Proven experience working as a teaching assistant, ideally with experience covering classes
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate pupils
* Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of children
* Right to work in the UK
