Offer description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for innovative individuals to work as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) within the Older Adult Mental Health Community Services.

We are committed to ensuring that all older adults within the mental health service receive an exceptional standard of care. ANPs are well placed to respond to the health and social care needs by meeting the requirements of the population in different ways and contributing to a sustainable and effective system.

We are looking for qualified mental health ANP to work within their professional boundaries to provide physical and mental health care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care. The successful candidates will demonstrate safe clinical decision making and expert care for patients. They will be highly motivated and forward thinking with a positive attitude to working within this evolving service.

The ANP will be expected to support service development through research, audit and quality improvement. They will also have a responsibility to teach, supervise, assess and mentor staff within the Multidisciplinary team.

This post will predominantly cover the older adult community mental health team based in Central and west Fife. There may be a requirement for candidates to work across other areas
Hours will be worked over a five day week, Monday to Friday; 9am-5pm

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioners who already posses the non-medical prescribing and clinical assessment skills qualifications.

Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependent on the duration of the training period (see Terms and Conditions).

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.

As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here.

For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found here.

It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.

We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
