Job Overview
Seeking a new opportunity to use your expert risk knowledge with a leading organisation? Our Operational Science team helps to ensure that we not only comply with all the regulatory requirements for water quality but also deliver water to the highest possible standards for all our customers.
What you'll do
The main function of this role is to manage, promote and maintain the statutory water quality risk assessments known as the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system. This role is key to ensuring that water quality and sufficiency risks are correctly identified, recorded and prioritised for investment. Accuracy in the GRC is essential to target capital and operational investment to manage business risks.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the Drinking Water Safety Plan (DWSP) methodology and associated policies and procedures to ensure the company GRC is comprehensive and well informed. This will help the correct decisions to maintain delivery of a wholesome, sustainable water supply.
You will work closely with Operational Managers, Scientists and Engineers, act as the primary contact for all source, treatment and distribution risk changes, and be central to investment decisions. In addition, you will represent the company with external stakeholders such as the Drinking Water Inspectorate and auditing bodies.
What you'll need
We are happy to consider applications from both experienced water professionals and those who bring risk management skills from a different environment. Along with a relevant scientific degree, you will need a good knowledge of water treatment, water distribution and water quality regulations, and a willingness to develop further. Alternatively, you will have relevant experience and enthusiasm to learn our industry and bring your risk expertise to bear on it.
