Exams Officer - Welwyn Garden City

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Exams Officer to join a busy and well run secondary school in Welwyn Garden City. This is a key role responsible for the planning, administration, and delivery of internal and external examinations in line with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Managing all aspects of exam administration for GCSEs, A-levels, and internal assessments
Ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements
Coordinating exam timetables, rooming, and invigilation schedules
Training and briefing invigilators and supporting exam-day logistics
Managing exam entries, access arrangements, and special consideration applications
Secure handling, storage, and distribution of examination materials
Liaising with senior leaders, teachers, students, awarding bodies, and external agencies
Maintaining accurate exam records and post-exam administration, including results and appeals
We are looking for an exams officer who can demonstrate
Stable and recent experience as an Exams Officer within a school environment (essential)
A good understanding and knowledge of JCQ regulations and exam processes
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines
Leadership and communication skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders
A professional and confidential approach at all times
