Principal Structural Engineer
The Construction Index Ltd is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead a small buildings design team in Sevenoaks, Kent.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage design projects ranging from £100,000 to £45m in value.
* Mentor graduate engineers and support their professional development.
* Act as the client‑facing representative to ensure design excellence and client satisfaction.
* Deliver technical design solutions for light industrial, warehouses, residential, mixed‑use city‑centre, retail, hotel chain and transport projects.
* Take responsibility for project delivery, timelines and budgets.
Qualifications
* Professional Engineer registration (Chartered Engineer or approaching registration).
* Extensive experience in structural design across a range of building types.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
* Eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom; preference for candidates within commuting distance and without visa restrictions.
