Senior Hydraulic Design Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Hydraulic Design Engineer on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering company. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and technically skilled individual to join an innovative team working on a diverse range of hydraulic systems and solutions.
The Role
This position plays a key part in expanding the company’s existing engineering capability. Reporting to the Lead Engineer, the successful candidate will be involved in the full lifecycle of hydraulic design projects – from concept development to detailed design and final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Design and detailing of hydraulic power units, cylinders, manifolds, and specialist valves.

Develop fluid power circuits and system schematics based on customer or project specifications.

Perform system calculations and component selection to ensure optimal performance.
*
Collaborate with production and fabrication teams to ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities.
*
Provide technical documentation, including BOMs, test procedures, and project reports.
*
Engage in design reviews, quality checks, and support troubleshooting where required.
Experience & Knowledge
*
Proven experience in hydraulic system design, preferably within a project-based or bespoke manufacturing environment.
*
Solid understanding of fluid power components, control principles, and system calculations.
*
Knowledge of fabrication and machining processes, tolerancing, and relevant industry standards.
Skills & Tools
*
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and Autodesk Inventor (3D) is essential.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on mindset.
*
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
