Job Summary
As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in managing the technical function of the Pharmacy Department. Under the supervision of the Chief Pharmacy Technician and Deputy Chief Pharmacist, you will help coordinate dispensary duties, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support the training and development of staff. This is a flexible role across multiple pharmacy locations, requiring a proactive and organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering safe and effective care.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage daily workflow and workload in collaboration with the Chief Pharmacy Technician
* Ensure patient-focused, responsive Outpatient Clinical Pharmacy services
* Dispense, check, and counsel patients on prescriptions in line with legal and professional standards
* Maintain accurate stock control and support billing processes
* Implement and review SOPs to ensure compliance with GPh.C, RPS, MHRA, and Home Office regulations
* Participate in audits, inspections, and service improvement initiatives
* Support training and development of new staff and work placements
* Contribute to CPD
* Participate in rota duties including late shifts, Saturdays, and Bank Holidays
Qualifications (Essential)
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Leadership experience, ability to lead a team
* Experience of working in hospital pharmacy setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Competent IT skills and ability to work independently
* Organised, diplomatic, and assertive team player
* Evidence of continuing professional development
