Job Description Senior Completions Engineer, Zenith-Energy are looking to support gas storage well design work, role can be on a staff or contract basis. Position Summary The Senior Completions Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, execution, and optimisation of well completion and intervention operations to safely and efficiently bring oil and gas wells into production. The role provides technical leadership throughout the well lifecycle, including completion design, equipment selection, operational execution, performance analysis, and well intervention activities. The Senior Completions Engineer works closely with drilling, reservoir, production, operations, HSE, and service company personnel to ensure wells are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while maximising production and asset value. Key Responsibilities Completion Design and Planning Develop completion design options for various well types Design well completion programs Develop detailed completion procedures, execution plans, and operational programs. Select and specify completion equipment including tubing, packers, safety valves, sand control systems, and artificial lift equipment. Conduct completion design reviews and risk assessments. Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and authorisation documents for completion operations. Ensure designs comply with company standards and industry best practices. Operations Execution Provide technical support and supervision during completion and intervention operations. Monitor operational performance and ensure activities are executed safely and efficiently. Coordinate service providers and contractors during field operations. Troubleshoot operational challenges and provide engineering solutions. Review daily operational reports and recommend corrective actions where required. Support well start-up and handover to production operations. Well Intervention and Workovers Design and manage well intervention programs including: Wireline operations Slickline operations Coiled tubing operations Hydraulic workovers Recompletion projects Evaluate candidate wells for intervention opportunities. Develop procedures to restore or enhance well productivity. Monitor intervention effectiveness and post-job performance. Well Performance Optimisation Analyse well performance data and identify optimisation opportunities. Evaluate production trends and completion effectiveness. Recommend remedial actions, stimulation treatments, and production enhancement initiatives. Support reservoir and production engineering teams with completion-related analyses. Participate in production surveillance and field development planning. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance Ensure all completion activities are conducted in accordance with company HSE policies. Participate in hazard identification and risk management processes. Lead technical reviews and operational risk assessments. Support incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions. Promote a strong safety culture within the wells organisation. Project Management Manage completion projects from concept through execution. Monitor project schedules, costs, and performance metrics. Prepare scopes of work and technical specifications for contractors and service providers. Participate in tender evaluations and contractor selection processes. Ensure lessons learned are captured and incorporated into future operations. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred Experience Extensive experience of completion engineering experience within the oil and gas industry. Demonstrated experience in designing and executing completion and intervention programs. Experience in both onshore and offshore environments preferred.
