Overview
Senior UX Researcher within the Product Design and Research team at Waitrose Online. You’ll support one of our Product Domains and work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary product teams. Your work will inform product design and development and ensure our user experiences are useful, usable and valuable for our customers. You will be responsible for bringing an understanding of end users to your product teams through proactively and reactively conducting UX Research.
Location and Working Arrangements
* This is a hybrid working role. Time will be split between working from home and the Bracknell office; the team aims for no more than two days a week in the office. Some travel to our London Pimlico office or other partnership locations across the UK may be required depending on the project.
* Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 depending on experience.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with stakeholders, designers and managers to ensure research is conducted at all stages of the design thinking process.
* Work with the UX Research Manager to craft project strategies through a broad range of research methods, from discovery activities to prototype testing and live field studies.
* Conduct a wide variety of research methods including interviews, surveys, lab and in-store testing, diary studies, journeys mapping, usability testing, and more.
* Be out in stores or fulfilment centres on an ad hoc basis to observe the experience and shadow partners to connect with the business.
* Collaborate with Partners across the ecommerce landscape to understand how our business and functions operate, empathise with customers and partners, and identify opportunities for innovative improvements.
Essential Skills
* Experience in a user research function.
* Experience delivering on a wide range of research projects across different life cycles (discovery and generative research).
* Knowledge of a wide range of research tools and methodologies (e.g., user interviews, diary studies, jobs-to-be-done, journey mapping, usability testing, surveys, card sorting, competitive analysis, experience walkthroughs, lab and in-store testing).
* Experience working on multiple research platforms (e.g., Dscout, UserTesting, Lysanna, SurveyMonkey).
Desirable Skills
* Research, Psychology or Design-related degree.
* Experience with both onscreen interactions and physical environments or hardware.
* Experience managing multiple projects and timelines with tooling such as Jira and Confluence.
* Experience with collaboration and design tools such as Miro and Figma.
* Experience in grocery or retail-oriented businesses.
