Job Title: Finance Team Support

Reports to: Finance Officer

Responsible for: n/a

Department: Finance

Tenure: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (3 days in the office and 2 days from home)

Salary: £23,902 per annuum

We are seeking to appoint a Finance Team Support with strong organisational skills and experience in delivery of quality administrative services across the Group to provide support to the directorate in delivering proactive and effective support across the Group which currently includes Cynon-Taf Community Housing Association, Care & Repair and Down to Zero. The duties will involve a range of support activities within the directorate of Finance and Treasury.

The Finance Team Support will be assisting with preparation of funding applications, VAT, budget and management accounts information, updating Group Invoice as well as responsible for taking care of daily financial tasks to assist Finance Administrators and Director with co-ordination of internal audit reviews and management of responses.

The post holder ideally would have experience of working in a busy environment and will possess excellent communication and organisational skills in providing customer service support at high level. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, independent thinker with energetic approach to project management will be able to accomplish assigned tasks in timely manner and become part of our friendly team.

To be successful, a candidate will need to have:

* Experience of using financial software Sage, Xero and any other financial package relevant to the industry along with other Microsoft office suites as well as ability to form and manage spreadsheets.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.

* Suitable accounting qualifications (AAT), in accounting, business studies, or equivalent qualification or qualified by experience

Key Responsibilities:

Support Finance Officers in the:

* Day to day running of the financial ledgers and reconciliations.

* Registering of invoices in QL.

* Preparation of funding applications, VAT, budget and management accounts information.

* Update Group Invoice Spreadsheets – ready for dept approvals and payment.

* Assist with the maintenance of Bank Accounts

Provide support to the Director in the co-ordination of internal audit reviews and management of responses.

Provide comprehensive administrative/clerical support across the directorate as and when required

Provide cover for rent processing as required.

General

* Keep abreast of legislative developments affecting your area of work and undertake training and

* continual professional development to keep up to date with the role and its changing requirements.

* Be aware of responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and other safety regulations and

* ensure that safe working practices and procedures are always adopted.

Key Measures of Performance

Accurate and timely maintenance of primary finance records in line with the current legislation to meet prescribed deadlines.

Efficient and effective support is provided in assisting the finance team in delivering the day-to-day financial processing, maintenance and financial reporting for the housing association and subsidiaries of the Group within specified timelines.

Co-ordination of the internal audit programme and reporting is achieved.

Contributes to the development of the services within the directorate.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the Group.

Meeting the timelines

for the flow of information in supporting the preparation of period end management accounts, cashflow, statutory accounts

Annual budget preparation and distribution along with financial business planning for the housing association and its subsidiaries.

Technical Abilities

Suitable accounting qualifications (AAT), in accounting, business studies, or equivalent qualification or qualified by experience

Able to demonstrate recent and relevant experience in working in a finance administration environment.

Understanding and awareness of finance processes

Experience using financial software Sage, Xero and any other financial package relevant to the industry.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.

Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and in particular a high competency in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams and other messaging systems.

Time management skills in prioritising workload to meet fixed deadlines.

Excellent numeric skills.

Understanding of what excellent customer service is and demonstrate this when delivering financial support across the Group

Desirable

It would also be beneficial for the post holder to:

Have experience and knowledge of the social housing sector.

Processing payroll information and resolving related queries.

To have the ability to write and speak Welsh
