Your new role
As a Hospital Speciality Training Executive Officer, you will support the coordination and delivery of a wide-ranging medical training programme. This is a varied and fast‑paced administrative role where no two days are the same.Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing the organisation of speciality recruitment processes, including advertising vacancies, coordinating interviews, and supporting panel members.
2. Handling placement allocations for junior doctors in line with agreed policies.
3. Supporting assessment and revalidation activities, including preparing documentation, scheduling reviews, and maintaining accurate records.
4. Servicing speciality trainingmittees—organising meetings, preparing agendas, taking action logs, and providing administrative support.
5. Arranging speciality induction activities and overseeing elements of curriculum delivery such as booking venues and speakers.
6. Maintaining training databases, ePortfolios, and information systems, ensuring accuracy andpliance with internal procedures.
7. Providing supervision and support to colleagues within the training department.
8. Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders across the healthcare and education sectors.
9. Contributing to service improvement, quality assurance, andpliance activities.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will need:
10. Relevant qualifications, including GCSE English and Maths (A–C or equivalent) and A‑Levels (or equivalent).
11. Experience working in an administrative environment, including preparing correspondence, working with databases, andmunicating with stakeholders.
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
13. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, unless exempt under disability provisions.
14. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, work to deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
15. The ability to analyse information, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
16. Experience supervising workloads and supporting colleagues.
Desirable experience includes:
17. Supporting events and coordinating logistics.
18. Providing administrative support tomittees, including minute taking.
19. Handling financial administration such as processing invoices.
