Three Lane Ends Academy is part of the Castleford Academy Trust. The academy has been on a journey of rapid improvement since, with this being recognised in our most recent OFSTED inspection in November, with all areas being graded as Good. The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and nurturing individual to further develop the pastoral offer throughout the academy. Whilst we pride ourselves on building and establishing positive relationships with all pupils, we are now seeking a Family and Inclusion Mentor to further enhance our pastoral provision, as well as strengthen our offer to families, enabling pupils to thrive in school.
The successful candidate will:
1. Work collaboratively, under the direction of leaders, to further enhance the already calm and supportive environment throughout the academy in line with the academy Behaviour Policy supporting pupils to regulate, providing emotion coaching to ensure all pupils maintain this effectively and have the independent emotional regulation tools
2. Be an exemplary practitioner with experience of supporting pupils with a range of academic and pastoral needs
3. Be a role model for colleagues in the facilitation of playground management, as well as conducting ‘teachable moments’, and restorative circles, as well as an understanding of trauma informed practices.
4. Have experience of leading and facilitating targeted support and direct intervention for pupils and measure their impact.
5. Champion all pupils and be flexible in their approach to supporting pupils and their families - being able to obtain and understand their wishes and needs to increase their success even further.
6. Be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and families and be aspirational -unafraid to challenge pupils and families to reach higher with this in mind
7. Build constructive working relationships with parents and carer in order to support, manage and innovate parent communication.
8. Be familiar with a range of strategies to support positive attendance in school and support the overcoming of barriers.
9. Be able to use a range of tools and systems to evaluate impact and redefine approach where analysis demonstrates it is not having the desired effect.
10. Work alongside the senior leadership team to refine and further influence change to continue the drive for excellence.
11. Be an effective communicator with a range of stakeholders, including colleagues; pupils; parents and external professionals.
