Teaching Assistant – KS1 Phonics Support

Contract: Full-time, term-time only
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Thornton who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide support with phonics in Key Stage 1 from 3rd November 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early literacy, with a strong interest in helping young learners develop their reading and writing skills.
Role responsibilities:
* Delivering small group and 1:1 phonics interventions
* Supporting the class teacher with daily phonics sessions
* Monitoring and tracking pupil progress in reading and writing
* Creating an engaging and supportive learning environment
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience supporting children in a primary school setting (phonics experience desirable but not essential)
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Be enthusiastic, proactive and patient
* Have a genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
