You will be working within the Technical Claims Department of the Legal Expenses division based at Bristol, Aztec West. You will be required to attend the office a minimum of one day a week with the flexibility to work from home. Role description The successful applicant will have a varied caseload of Before The Event claims ranging in complexity and value. The role will include managing legal expenses claims from the opening stages through to conclusion. This will involve assessing technical legal claims against Family, Motor and Commercial policy wordings, carrying out further investigations, appointing and managing solicitors liaising directly with solicitors, policyholders and brokers answering wide ranging queries and assessing costs incurred at conclusion. You will work closely within a team supporting each other but will need to work independently managing your own caseload and prioritising your work so that customer expectations and service levels are met. Full training will be provided for the role -you will be required to attend site as and when agreed, initially full time to receive support. About you You will ideally have a good understanding of legal expenses Insurance end to end processes and products. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen and absorb technical information, explain complex decisions in a simple way and when required, the ability to negotiate to achieve good outcomes for our customers. You will be able manage relationships with colleagues, solicitors and external customers with the ability to be persuasive and respond objectively when challenged. This is a busy, demanding role and therefore, you will need to have the ability to multi-task, managing telephone calls, emails, queries from colleagues as well as making new claims decisions which requires an excellent attention to detail. You will hopefully have a good understanding of Financial Ombudsman Service and our regulators practices and procedures.
