Job Overview
We are looking to appoint an Orthopaedic Consultant to further develop our highly rated soft tissue knee surgery, arthroplasty and trauma services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your sub‑specialist interest in acute knee injuries, elective soft tissue knee surgery, arthroplasty and trauma.
Applicants will be expected to have completed at least 1 post CCT fellowship in soft tissue knee surgery.
The post will suit individuals with the desire and resolve to provide modern, high‑quality care. We will also consider flexible working options, subject to the exigencies of the service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
* Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise at time of application
* Specialist interest or additional qualifications in other areas of specialty.
* Entry on GMC Specialist Register
Experience
* Completion of at least 1 post CCT soft tissue knee fellowship
* Ability to demonstrate trauma expertise in hip and knee and general trauma.
* Clinical supervision experience/skills
* Experience of participation in CPD.
* Experience in a similar post with logbook of soft tissue knee procedures
* Experience with children’s knee pathology
* NJR clinician feedback and track record
* Completion of service improvement in knee surgery
* Previous experience of using online patient record system e.g., SystemOne, Careflow, Nerve centre
* Knowledge of enhanced recovery pathways and day case arthroplasty
Skills
* Basic IT skills
* Ability to cope with stressful situations
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
* Ability to undertake training/mentoring of clinical staff and enthusiasm for education
