Role Overview
Position: B7 Specialist Area Lead Radiographer – Theatre and Mobile Imaging and X‑Ray Equipment Management programme at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHPT). The role is based at Derriford Hospital and may involve peripheral sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical excellence and lead Service Development for the X‑Ray Imaging Service.
* Oversee day‑to‑day organisation of the clinical area whilst delivering effective and efficient leadership.
* Support the entire X‑Ray Imaging team as part of a rotating Radiographer‑in‑charge rota and act as Acting Service Lead Radiographer when required.
* Train, supervise and mentor undergraduate radiographers from the University of Exeter and the University of Plymouth, as well as apprentice radiographers and diagnostic radiographers.
* Develop and manage an Equipment Management programme for X‑Ray imaging equipment.
* Promote a culture of learning and support for all learners within the clinical environment.
Qualifications & Experience
* HCPC registered Radiographer.
* Post–graduate NHS experience in an acute setting as a senior B6/B7 general radiographer.
* Sound current clinical knowledge of all areas of X‑ray imaging and proven expertise across the full imaging service.
* Demonstrated clinical experience in theatre and mobile imaging.
