We are looking for a clinical fellow doctor (registrar level) in gastroenterology in Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton. Part‑time applications will also be considered. The post is intended to provide support to the inpatient team as well as experience in outpatients and endoscopy.
Responsibilities
Support to the inpatient gastroenterology service (including reviewing referrals of inpatients from other teams).
Regular outpatient clinics.
Endoscopy training in the relevant modality; if upper GI endoscopy is the main training requirement this will be offered in a high intensity manner with the aim of achieving independent practice (over 250 procedures) in the first six months of the post, followed by delivery of service lists during the remainder of the post.
Some commitment to the GIM on‑call rota – this can be negotiated according to training needs of the successful postholder and the other registrars.
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent
* Full registration and licence to practice with GMC
Desirable qualifications
* MRCP
* ALS
* GCP
Experience
* A minimum of two years full‑time hospital service in FY2/ST1/2 or higher grade, including at least two years’ experience on a general medical training programme
* Able to carry out the duties described in the job description
* Experience of working in the NHS
Desirable experience
* Experience at Specialist Registrar grade
* Teaching of junior medical staff, nursing staff
* Demonstrates a commitment to gastroenterology
