An opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team at Galliford Try. As a Quantity Surveyor you will be an important part of the Framework Commercial team and will work closely with the Pre-Construction, Design and Delivery functions within the wider team, to manage the commercial administration, reporting and performance on a single large project or several smaller schemes on the AMP 8 Wessex Water Framework.
Responsibilities
* Produce subcontract documentation, negotiate terms and conditions, prices and programme, and manage subcontract works packages including interim assessments and change management.
* Issue commercial notices to the client and subcontractors, manage change in a timely manner and produce and submit Compensation Event Quotations.
* Liaise with operational and engineering staff to ensure site records are kept to required standards and demonstrate flexibility, resilience and influence.
* Participate in weekly progress and risk reduction meetings, produce, submit and agree on monthly applications, detailed monthly reports, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and Cost Plans, and track and forecast expenditure and liabilities.
* Ensure a safe working environment, uphold Health & Safety responsibilities and promote a collaborative working culture.
Qualifications
Alongside a relevant degree and/or experience in a commercial environment, experience on large single or multiple smaller schemes with solid knowledge of construction processes is required. A professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS, ideally Incorporated member or working towards full membership, is desirable. A strong appreciation of standard contract forms and proficiency in IT – including Excel, Word and contractual and cost management systems (CEMAR, Oracle) – is essential.
