Davin Industries is part of the Stratco group, a dynamic, national leader in the manufacture and marketing of building and home improvement products. Operating from one of New Zealand's best-equipped sheetmetal fabrication facilities, Davin Industries combines state-of-the-art production technology with precision craftsmanship.
As a Product Development Technician your key duties will include:
* Confirming customer design requirements and create 2D drawings and 3D models of customer parts and assemblies.
* Ensure good design for manufacture (DFM) of each part. This will involve working with the manufacturing team to ensure parts can be manufactured and an understanding of how sheet-metal parts are processed.
* Generate part production timings for quoting.
* Ensure drawings / designs reflect the requirements for manufacture and maintain revision control of drawings.
* Liaise with manufacturing, operations and sales teams, providing assistance to ensure parts are manufactured to correct specifications.
We're looking for an individual with tertiary qualifications in Industrial Design, Engineering or a similar discipline, with well-developed 3D CAD skills. Solidworks proficiency is preferred. Previous experience gained in a manufacturing environment will serve you well, knowledge of sheet metal / fabrication part design an advantage.
