Overview
Location: Locala Community Healthcare Services (Locala Children’s Community Nursing Team)
Role: Children’s Community Nurse (Band 5, fixed‑term maternity leave cover – 12 months)
Hours: up to 30 hours per week (negotiable if fewer hours are required)
Responsibilities
* Deliver evidence‑based nursing care to children and young people within the community
* Support children with complex and additional healthcare needs
* Provide education and support to families and carers to promote independence and wellbeing
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, schools, social care and partner agencies
* Participate in assessment, care planning, safeguarding and clinical reviews
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with NMC standards
* Contribute positively to service development and team learning
* Provide nursing cover one day a week at a Special Educational Needs school alongside experienced colleagues
Qualifications
* Registered Children’s Nurse (RN Child/RSCN) or due to qualify soon
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Compassionate, adaptable and eager to learn
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
* Interest in community children’s nursing and delivering care closer to home
