Sapiens UK is seeking a Business Systems Analyst, preferably with expertise in Life & Pensions insurance, to become a valuable addition to our growing Cardiff team.
You'll lead the implementation of impactful functional changes, managing full project lifecycles from system enhancements to new implementations. Your experience with life and pensions administration systems, Agile Scrum methodology, and basic SQL skills will be key to driving success.
Location: Preferably based in Cardiff, UK, as this is a Hybrid role requiring 2 days per week on-site unless traveling to client sites.
Please note that we do not offer Visa or Relocation support, and applicants on a student or PSW work visa will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Writing requirements, design, interface, and output documents, ensuring timely delivery.
* Reviewing and obtaining sign-off on all requirement and design documents in collaboration with Sapiens’ clients.
* Attending, documenting, and occasionally leading requirement and design workshops internally and externally.
* Engaging with Lead BA, Delivery Manager, and Project Director/PM on project actions, assumptions, risks, issues, decisions, and constraints.
* Refining and writing Agile stories, and actively participating as a Scrum team member.
* Agreeing on the design of refined stories with Developers and Testers, including Acceptance Criteria and Estimates.
* Supporting the Development team during the build phase.
* Reviewing Test Scripts and supporting testing activities during the test phase.
* Assisting clients in building “as-is” and “to-be” processes, including system demonstrations face-to-face and via screen share.
* Providing functional analysis, design advice, guidance, and consultancy to clients throughout projects, in collaboration with Senior and Lead BAs.
* Participating in Peer Review activities to ensure quality and completeness of requirements and design work.
* Configuring and supporting parameter settings that define system functionality as per design documentation.
* Supporting planning for Requirement Specifications and Design phases, including sizing and phasing for quality delivery within time and budget.
* Adhering to Sapiens processes and best practices.
Skills and Experience Required:
* At least 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in Life & Pensions or financial services.
* Experience implementing significant functional changes.
* Experience across full project lifecycle, including system implementation or enhancement projects.
* Knowledge of life and pensions administration systems is advantageous.
* Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology.
* Basic SQL skills.
* Willingness to travel to client sites (International & UK travel), when safe to do so.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent.
* CII certification.
* ISEB/BCS ACII / FPC / AFPC or similar qualifications.
