About the Role
Due to continued growth, we’re looking for Lining Engineers to join our expanding Midlands team. As part of Ipsum, you’ll support the delivery of specialist utility and infrastructure services across both public and private networks.
In this role, you’ll work with industry‑leading technology to maintain, repair and improve essential drainage systems, helping ensure reliable services for the communities we support.
This is a full‑time, permanent position with strong progression opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Carry out patch repairs on drainage systems using equipment such as the RSM Sewertronics UV system
* Assess pipeline condition using CCTV survey data and identify suitable repair methods
* Prepare clear, detailed reports outlining work completed and recommendations
* Ensure compliance with all H&S legislation, RAMS and company procedures
* Work with clients, supervisors and internal teams to plan and deliver work efficiently
* Keep accurate job records and ensure materials and equipment are maintained correctly
* Conduct routine equipment checks and basic on‑site maintenance
Qualifications
You’ll be someone who enjoys hands‑on, technical work and takes pride in doing the job well. A full UK driving licence is essential.
Experience in drainage, utilities or groundwork is beneficial, especially if you’ve used patching rigs, lining kits or cutting tools. Certifications such as High‑Pressure Water Jetting, Confined Space Entry, NRSWA Streetworks, Water Hygiene and Banksman training are ideal.
However, if you don’t hold all of these yet, we’re open to applicants who are motivated, reliable and eager to build their skills — full training will be provided.
This role includes some weekend and night work, so flexibility is important.
