Location: Near Slough – Hybrid working (3 days per week in the office)
Salary: £48,000 to £52,000 per annum dependent on experience
The role of Demand Planner plays a key role in shaping accurate sales forecasts and planning demand to balance service levels and cost. Sitting within the Supply Chain team, this role helps align commercial demand with global supply while ensuring efficiency, flexibility and strong service performance. You’ll work closely with supply planners and customer collaboration teams to build robust forecasts and support seamless end‑to‑end operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Update the short‑term forecast to reflect changes from the mid‑term plan and incorporate the latest shipment expectations by product, customer and location
* Build a robust baseline forecast at SKU/customer level by cleansing sales history and applying manual or statistical forecasting methods
* Partner with Sales, Marketing and Finance to validate assumptions, add promotional volumes and model uplift, dip and cannibalisation scenarios within APO Demand Planning
* Integrate new product launches into the demand plan, define local master data, and track performance weekly to refine post‑launch forecasts
* Manage product phase‑outs in collaboration with Central Supply Planning
* Develop a high‑level second‑year forecast using long‑term statistical approaches and update quarterly to support operations planning and annual volume target setting
* Review and adjust the total demand forecast weekly to ensure accuracy before release to Supply Planning, including shaping demand during supply constraints
* Drive cross‑functional alignment by ensuring Sales, Marketing, Finance and Central Planning operate from a single, agreed forecast
* Maintain documentation of monthly GM sign‑off on the 18‑month rolling forecast
* Monitor key forecasting KPIs, analyse root causes of bias or inaccuracy, and implement corrective actions to continuously improve performance
Requirements:
* 3 - 5 years’ experience in Demand Planning ideally within an FMCG environment
* Excellent ability to manage stakeholders both internally and externally
* Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP APO or equivalent ERP/planning systems
* Good analytical skills
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down and solve complex problems
* The ability to Lead and embrace change
