Responsibilities
* Provide an extraordinary hospitality experience.
* Maintain a sense of arrival at the host stand when guests arrive.
* Present Stanmar guests with an incredible first impression.
* Wear a clean, designated, wrinkle-free uniform and name tag.
* Assist in setting the dining room, clearing and resetting tables, and refilling water glasses as directed by management.
* Greet all guests within a timely manner and recognize repeat guests.
* Ensure guests feel welcomed and attended to; accommodate guest needs promptly.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization in the restaurant area.
* Collaborate with the front desk and management to set up, confirm, and organize reservations through the reservation system.
* Promote a professional, helpful and courteous work environment.
* Confirm party size and escort guests to appropriate tables.
* Assist servers with water service (tap, bottled still, or sparkling).
* Inform service team of special requests for reservations.
* Attend pre-shift in uniform ready for service.
* Keep the host stand and dining room clean, neat, organized, and well-manicured.
* Follow opening and closing procedures each shift.
* Keep guests informed of wait times and follow proper seating distribution.
* Promote bar and bar dining when on a wait; assist with take-out orders when necessary.
* Continuously check dining room and restrooms to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
* Keep menus, wine lists, and promotional items current and organized.
* Ensure ambiance guidelines are followed throughout the restaurant.
* Demonstrate knowledge of food, wine, service, and resort information to guests; maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
* Remain confident and adaptable in various situations.
Policies and Procedures
* Alcohol awareness program is strictly enforced.
* Promote hygiene and prevent virus and bacteria spread.
* Management handles all guest and employee Altercations.
* Report any situations involving illegal substances to management.
* Harassment of any type is not tolerated.
* Comply with all aspects of the Little Gem Resorts Handbook including time and attendance.
* No smoking or vaping near guests.
Qualifications
* Excellent people skills and outgoing personality.
* Team player.
* Maintains a current state health card permit.
* Flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
* Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs; move up to 150 lbs with wheeled assistance.
* Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time.
* Demonstrated training and competency as outlined in the training schedule.
* Service-minded with a positive attitude and enjoys helping others.
* Quick on feet and able to handle stressful situations professionally.
* Computer literate.
* Able to handle constructive criticism.
* Ability to move through a crowded room to seat guests and use various office equipment.
Prior Food & Beverage experience required. High school diploma preferred. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation. Ability to obtain Food Service Sanitation certification. First Aid and CPR certification preferred. All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Ability to converse with guests and employees in English. Successful applicants will pass pre-employment background check and must satisfy mandated I-9 documentation. Our season is from December to end of July; all employees must be available for the full season.
