A growing business is seeking a Quality Control Technician with experience in controlling quality within a busy factory environment.

Responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician:
1. Daily:
o Perform ongoing online quality reviews to ensure only compliant products are dispatched.
o Check and change labels as necessary.
o Complete general quality checks and related paperwork.
o Conduct weight checks and record results.
o Perform residual oxygen checks with documentation.
o Carry out metal detector checks and record findings.
o Maintain all due diligence paperwork during shifts.
o Ensure comprehensive coverage of all designated areas, reviewing periodically.
o Monitor all at-risk production runs to ensure coverage, as directed by managers or technical staff.
2. Weekly:
o Calibrate and document gas analyzers and probes.
o Perform chemical titrations to verify chemical concentrations.
o Conduct GMP audits and document outcomes.
o Collect micro and organoleptic samples as scheduled.
3. Monthly:
o Complete scheduled micro/chemical sampling.
o Calibrate Tbar/data loggers.
o Perform audits of glass and plastics.
o Record metal detection tests for plasters and detectable consumables.
o Audit first aid supplies.
The ideal candidate:
* Has experience working in a high-risk chilled food handling environment.
* Possesses specific QC or quality monitoring experience.
* Can influence manufacturing processes positively.
* Is familiar with BRCGS audits.
* Understands GMP/GHP and food contamination controls.
Work Schedule Options:
* Five days, Sunday-Thursday, 07:00-17:00, or
* Four days: Sunday-Wednesday, 07:00-17:00, and Monday-Wednesday, 06:00-18:00.
Salary starts at £12.75 per hour, increasing to up to £13.75/hr after passing probation, dependent on experience.
