We are looking for an Accounts Assistant Apprentice to join the team in Hull.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain an apprenticeship qualification while gaining real-life experience working within a Finance environment.
This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for Finance. The main duties and key responsibilities include:
1. Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
2. Supporting the management of the fixed asset register and related journal entries
3. Maintaining the general ledger, including monthly journal entries and accruals/prepayments, verifying account balances against transactions
4. Supporting the Finance management team with month-end reporting
5. Providing information to internal and external auditors as required
6. Payroll reconciliations to ensure records match financial data
7. Collaborating with other departments to ensure financial accuracy
The successful candidate will have (or be predicted to achieve) GCSE qualifications in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above).
Skills and qualities we are looking for:
1. Experience in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
2. Excellent numerical and written communication skills
3. High attention to detail, particularly when working with data
4. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure
5. A hardworking and professional approach to work
You will work towards completing the Level 2/Level 3 Finance/Accounts Assistant apprenticeship, with the potential for a permanent role.
