The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer with around 3–4 years of experience to join a growing civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Derby.
Working as part of a talented and supportive team of Chartered, mid-level and graduate engineers, you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of civil engineering projects — including highway and drainage design, as well as more complex and bespoke structural developments.
This position offers excellent scope for professional growth, with structured mentoring and support towards Chartered status. Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality concept, preliminary and detailed designs for drainage and highway projects.
Undertake technical calculations including QBar, attenuation, soakaway sizing, pipeline capacities and network analysis.
Prepare and coordinate technical reports such as Drainage Strategies, Flood Risk Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
Prepare technical approval packages (S104, S106, S185, S184, S278, S38) and liaise with relevant authorities.
Support project delivery through coordination with clients, architects and contractors.
Contribute to the development of junior engineers and technicians.
Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and quality standards.
About You
BEng/BSc (2:1 or above) in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
Around 3–4 years’ post-graduate experience in civil engineering design, ideally with exposure to highways and drainage.
Proficient in relevant design software and confident working to UK design standards.
Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to progress toward Chartered Engineer status (MICE or MIStructE).
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
