We are looking for a proactive part timeFacilities Officer to support the Senior Facilities Officer and Operations Supervisor in the provision of the school's support service, ensuring the school is secure, safe, and maintained for pupils, staff and visitors working to agreed service standards. This is a part time role, working 21 hours per week all year round.
Working pattern
* Sundays: 11 hours (7.00am - 6.00pm)
* Wednesdays and Thursdays: 5 hours each (5:00pm–10:00pm)
* Annual leave: 6 weeks plus bank holidays
* While these are the core hours of the role, a degree of flexibility would be preferred
Responsibilities
* Unlocking and locking of buildings and facilities as required
* Ensuring fire doors and windows are secure; maintaining the security of the campus, buildings, and facilities
* Dealing with breaches of security
* Undertaking a maintenance plan as instructed by the Senior Facilities Officer
* Carrying out repairs, maintaining equipment, overseeing daily upkeep of heating, lighting, water, drainage, and other services
* Providing support for lettings and school events
* Undertaking any cleaning requirements that may arise and keeping grounds clean, tidy and litter free
* Sweeping of pathways and emptying litter bins daily
* Cleaning school vehicles inside and out at least weekly, and prior to all excursions
* Promoting the school in a professional image and driving school vehicles as required
Requirements / Qualifications
* Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting
* Relevant qualifications in facilities or a related field, including IOSHH and MIDAS (or willing to undertake these)
* Experience of Caretaking, Plumbing, Carpentry/Joinery, Painting and IEE Wiring Regulations is desirable
* Team player with a flexible approach to the working day
* Working shift patterns will vary depending on the needs of the school
