Position Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Practitioner post to work as part of the CAMHS Eating Disorders Team. This role will be a key member of the team, offering family based care to children and young people in the community and the paediatric ward, liaising with all agencies involved with care.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate care, team meetings and MDT meetings for children and young people, join supervision structures and offer consultation to CAMHS colleagues.
* Co‑coordinate and deliver care for children and young people referred with eating disorders, providing first‑line management and leadership to the team.
* Proactively ensure the efficacy of the CAMHS Eating Disorder (CED) care pathway and the shared paediatric/CED pathway, influencing service development with the support of the CED Team Lead.
* Act as a senior clinician: assess the psychological, social and physical factors relevant to the mental health of children, adolescents and their families experiencing severe eating disorders; plan, implement and manage family‑based interventions in keeping with National Guidelines.
* Present a professional image and promote a positive image of CAMHS and the Trust to service users, carers and the community.
Qualifications & Experience
You will be a registered practitioner – RMN, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist – and have experience working with children or adults who experience eating disorders. The Trust supports flexible working; we are happy to discuss different working patterns, job shares or part‑time arrangements.
Working Environment & Support
* The CAMHS Eating Disorder service is a multi‑disciplinary team based within the CAMHS Service at The Den, Chesterfield Royal Hospital, closely linked with other CAMHS teams and the hospital’s paediatric ward.
