Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer with 1-2 years post-graduate experience to join our busy team based in our Bournemouth offices. This role will entail developing software and supporting documentation according to the requirements of both internal and external customers, under supervision of senior technical staff.
Key Duties
* Undertake implementation of new product features to an agreed functional specification, including:
o Analysis of requirements to determine proposed technical solution
o Detailed software design including any required documentation updates
o Implementation according to relevant coding standards
o Testing of own changes to confirm readiness for handover to independent QA
o Promptly analyse and resolve defects reported internally and by customers.
o Produce high quality code to time and to budget, under technical guidance and supervision from senior technical staff and in accordance with applicable departmental procedures and standards.
o Provide estimates of effort and duration relating to work to complete assigned tasks.
o Provide reports of progress against assigned tasks when requested, raising any issues or risks affecting completion within the agreed parameters.
Technical Requirements for the Role
You Will Need To Have a Degree (or Equivalent), In Software Engineering Or Related Discipline And Be Competent In The Use Of One Or More Integrated Development Environments. Alongside This You Will Need Demonstrable Experience Of
* Working in a cross functional team environment with software engineers, requirements engineers and test engineers
* Working within at least one software development lifecycle, including Waterfall, Agile (Scrum) etc.
* Using C++, C# and/or equivalent high-level object-oriented languages.
* Using software design techniques including object-oriented methods using UML or equivalent.
* Using scripting languages such as Python.
You Will Also Need
* Knowledge of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using OOD methodology.
* Version control and version control software.
* Exhibit an understanding and willingness to utilize formal structured software engineering processes.
