Overview
About the role: To provide a front line service in line with Powys Council policies and procedures. Responsible for the day-to-day opening, closing and security of the establishment. To be an out of hours key holder for responding to emergency call outs and arranged opening.
Responsibilities
 * Closing for contractors.
 * Responsible for cleaning a given area to the required specification by efficient use of the labour available.
 * Supervise other cleaning personnel dependant on local arrangements (as applicable).
 * Removing dirty marks from walls, doors and internal windows up to head height; removing cobwebs and dust up to 2.2 m.
 * Replenishing toilet tissue, hand towels, soap as required.
 * Emptying of recycling / waste bins (following local arrangements for recycling) and cleaning of these bins; replenishing litter bin bags.
 * Removing any recycling / waste to the refuse compound and storing correctly ready for collection.
 * Assisting with moving of furniture as requested.
 * Ensure the premises are locked and unlocked to the times specified on a daily basis; ensure the premises are locked and unlocked to the times requested outside the operational day.
 * All premises are left secure with windows, doors locked and alarms set.
 * Completing on site documentation as required and sending to the office.
 * Recess cleaning of walls, floors, internal windows and doors, furniture, fittings, window ledges and work surfaces.
 * Ensure a good standard of work by: reporting damaged/broken items to Head of Establishment and Cleaning Mobile Support; reporting blocked drains to Head of Establishment and Cleaning Mobile Support; reporting damaged windows to Head of Establishment and Cleaning Mobile Support; observing and adhering to health and safety procedures; following procedures for correct use of chemicals; ensuring a safe working environment.
 * Note: This position has a requirement for an Enhanced DBS Check.
Qualifications/Requirements
 * Ability to complete stock records, time sheets, etc.
 * Literacy and numeracy skills.
 * Experience cleaning to required specifications and supervising cleaning personnel (where applicable).
