About the Role
As a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will become part of a skilled on‑site engineering team responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support across a wide range of manufacturing equipment and site facilities.
This shift‑based role requires a proactive and technically capable engineer with strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills, excellent fault‑finding ability, and a commitment to maintaining high operational standards.
Shift Pattern
Rotating shifts every 2 weeks:
* Day Shift: 05:45 – 18:15
* Night Shift: 17:45 – 06:15
Overtime opportunities are available.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across a broad range of manufacturing equipment.
* Diagnose faults and perform reactive maintenance repairs to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
* Conduct maintenance and general repairs to site facilities and building fabric.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all required documentation.
* Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and site performance.
* Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, permit‑to‑work systems, and company procedures.
* Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to support overall site operations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this position, you must have:
* A recognised apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or electro‑mechanical engineering.
* A minimum Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, ONC, or equivalent).
* At least 5 years’ experience in a multi‑skilled maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Proven experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems, including fault diagnosis and repair.
* A strong understanding of health & safety legislation and engineering best practice.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
* A full UK driving licence due to shift patterns and site location.
