Are you a Midwife looking for an exciting change? Are you keen to make a difference to the diverse families accessing our care? Are you looking to work in a supportive Homebirth team? Are you looking for access to training, development and other learning opportunities in Midwifery?

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Midwife to come and join our established Homebirth Team. We know Continuity of Care and Homebirth teams can be some of the most satisfying and empowering teams to work in. We have built this team to not only provide excellent care, but to also care and invest in the midwives within the team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated individual who is dedicated to providing continuity of care for women and their families planning to birth at home. You will be part of a supportive and experienced team providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care. You will care for your own caseload, with a collective rostered team on-call commitment to cover the homebirth service 24/7.

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality, evidence based holistic midwifery care to women requesting homebirth or a caseload model of care. To provide continuity of care to women from booking, antenatal, intrapartum and beyond. The midwife will be required to work as part of a team and participate in the on-call rota to facilitate the women's desired place of birth.

Supervises: Health care support workers, Student midwives, and junior qualified staff.

1. Band Midwife with UK professional Registration with experience ideally in a Homebirth or Birth Centre Environment

3. Has worked in a variety of settings using all midwifery skills
4. Ability to participate in health promotion activities to include antenatal classes/clinics
5. Ability to prioritise clinical work effectively
6. Can show a non judgemental approach to patient care
7. Ability to record and report back accurately and fully on patient assessments undertaken and risks identified
8. Ability to identify deteriorating patients
9. Able to analyse, interpret and action fetal heart rate monitoring including intermittent auscultation and CTG recordings
10. Able to use both Adult and Neonatal resuscitation skills

11. Ability to work as part of a multi -disciplinary team
12. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels across the Department and Directorate
13. The ability to communicate with patients in an empathetic manner regarding their treatment and procedures.
14. Can demonstrate an enthusiastic, approachable and friendly manner
15. Ability communicate effectively, both written and oral
16. Understanding of own Knowledge and Skills Framework and ability to identify learning needs and interests
17. Ability to self reflect, carry out tasks of own job and identify what s/he needs to learn to able to do current job better
