Shot Blaster

Job Purpose:
The Shot Blaster is responsible for operating the shot blaster to clean, smooth, or etch the surface of our trailers in preparation for paint.
Key Responsibilities:
* Machine Operation: Operate shot blasting machine to prepare metal surfaces by spraying abrasive materials under pressure.
* Preparation: Load and unload items into shot blasting shed, ensuring the proper setup for each job.
* Monitoring: Continuously monitor machine operation, ensuring abrasive media levels are adequate and checking for machine malfunctions.
* Quality Control: Inspect finished surfaces to ensure they meet company and industry standards for cleanliness, texture, and finish.
* Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and ensure that all safety equipment is used correctly to avoid accidents or damage.
* Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of the shot blasting equipment, including inspecting and replacing worn-out parts as needed.
* Record Keeping: Maintain records of daily machine use, maintenance activities, and materials used.
* Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with the machines, escalating major problems to supervisors or maintenance staff.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with other operators, supervisors, and production teams to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications:
* Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, particularly with shot blasting or similar abrasive processes, is preferred.
* Preferable Skills:
* Strong understanding of shot blasting machinery and abrasive processes.
* Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Knowledge of safety protocols related to industrial equipment.
* Ability to read and follow technical manuals and job specifications.
* Strong attention to detail and quality assurance skills.

* Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, and handling heavy materials).

Working Conditions:
* Full-time position with the possibility of overtime based on production demands.
* Work may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, and other environmental factors; personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
* The role may require standing for extended periods and lifting materials or parts.
